Membership into the Royal Order of Kamehameha I is typically by invitation only. However, interested parties may also apply for membership. The application process includes completing an application, obtaining endorsements from two current members, and passing a committee review. Māmala Hoa welcomes all adult (21 and up) Kanaka ‘Ōiwi kāne of good moral character, who will recognize Ke Akua, honor Kamehameha, protect, preserve, and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture, and uplift the Kanaka ‘Ōiwi, to apply for membership.
